Nevada Reading Week 2021: Book Lists
Get ready for Nevada Reading Week early by enhancing your library with new titles! To promote reading for pleasure, students need access to books that mirror their lives and expand their knowledge about the world and experiences of others. These grade-level book suggestions reflect the 2021 theme, “Change Your World – Read!” The titles were chosen to assist Nevada educators and families in supporting students in growing and nurturing perspectives other than their own, changing self-awareness, and honing self-acceptance through a deeper understanding of the lives of others. These books also showcase people around the world who have enacted or promoted change related to the environment or society. Each title is linked to teachingbooks.net which provides an engaging collection of resources.

Spread the Word: New Theme and Dates Chosen for Nevada Reading Week 2021
Save the Date: March 1-5, 2021
The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) recently established a new statewide committee to facilitate the celebration of Nevada Reading Week. Members of the committee include school and public librarians, local literacy educators, NDE program professionals, and other passionate literacy leaders across Nevada. After gathering stakeholder input, the committee is thrilled to announce the theme for Nevada Reading Week 2021. It is: Change Your World: Read! The celebration will be held across all Nevada schools the week of March 1-5, 2021. Please share this powerful new theme and the dates with your library coordinators, educators, and community members. The Nevada Reading Week Committee will provide additional announcements and resources throughout the coming months.
